Provider modes and data region

Dictāta can transcribe your voice in three ways. Choose one in Account -> Settings -> Provider -> Transcription service.

Managed

The default. Everything works with your Dictāta account and plan. See Account and subscription for limits.

Routing region

In Managed mode you can choose where your request is processed:

• Global: routing via global servers.
• Europe: routing via EU servers.

Open Account -> Settings -> Provider -> Routing region and choose Europe if you want EU processing. Details about what is stored are on the GDPR page.

Own Key

Use your own OpenAI API key.

1. Choose Own Key as the transcription service.
2. Enter your OpenAI API key in the API Key section and tap Save key.
3. Tap Test connection to check it. A valid key shows "Connection works".
4. Choose a transcription model and an AI model for AI actions.

Your usage is billed by OpenAI, not Dictāta. Context Actions in this mode also need your key.
