Prompts, Library and History
Create prompts, teach Dictāta your vocabulary, and find past transcriptions in the Android app.
Updated 2026-10-06
The Dictāta app has five tabs: Home, History, Library, Prompts and Account.
Home
Home shows your recent transcripts and statistics: total words dictated, time saved compared with typing, and words and time saved today.
Prompts
Prompts tell the AI how to shape your text, for example "write this as a polite email" or "turn this into bullet points".
- Open the Prompts tab and tap + New Prompt.
- Enter a name and the prompt instructions.
- Tap Activate to use it. The active prompt is marked Active.
AI Actions apply the active prompt after you dictate. If no prompt is active, AI Actions use the raw transcription. Turn AI Enhancement on or off from the keyboard's Prompts button.
Library
The Library has three tabs.
Glossary
Add names, brands and technical terms so they are recognized correctly. The Improve recognition setting controls whether your glossary terms are shared with Dictāta's transcription service. Turn it off to use Replacements only on your device.
Replacements
Fix words that get misheard. Enter When I say and Replace with, and Dictāta swaps them automatically.
Commands
Save text you use often, such as an email address or link. Enter a Voice Command and the Insert Text, then say the command while dictating.
Library rules are stored locally on your device.
History
History lists your recent transcriptions. Tap an entry to open it. From there you can copy the text, play the recording, regenerate the transcription or delete it.
Account
The Account tab shows your usage, your stats, and Settings. It also lets you contact support, restart the onboarding, sign out, or delete your account.
