Use the macOS menu bar

Where to find it

On macOS, the Dictāta icon lives in the menu bar at the top-right corner of the screen.

Click the icon to access quick controls without opening the main app window.

Available actions

• Start / Stop Recording
• Hide / Show Floating Button
• Reset button to default position
• Launch at startup
• View History
• Open Settings
• Open Microphone Settings
• Contact Support
• Restart Dictāta
• Sign Out
• Exit

Reset the floating button

If the floating button moved outside the visible screen or into an inconvenient position, use Reset button to default position from the menu bar.
