Glossary

Teach Dictāta names, technical terms, brand words, and exact replacements.

Updated 2026-06-25

What the Glossary does

The Glossary lets you teach Dictāta words it would otherwise get wrong.

It has two tabs:

  • Smart Glossary
  • Manual Replacements

Smart Glossary

Add a correctly spelled word once. Dictāta automatically corrects close phonetic or spelling variants when it hears them.

Use this for proper nouns, brand names, technical terms, and names of people that transcription tends to mishear.

  1. Open Settings -> Glossary -> Smart Glossary.
  2. Type the word exactly as it should appear, such as Kubernetes.
  3. Save.

Manual Replacements

Use Manual Replacements when you know the exact mis-transcribed phrase and the exact corrected output you want.

  1. Open Settings -> Glossary -> Manual Replacements.
  2. Enter the mis-transcribed term in the first field, such as sup abase.
  3. Enter the correct replacement in the second field, such as Supabase.
  4. Save.

Manual replacements are applied as exact string matches. They run on every transcription before text is inserted.
