What Voice Commands do
Voice Commands let you speak a short trigger phrase and automatically expand it into text you define.
Use them for:
- Email addresses
- URLs
- Phone numbers
- Multi-line templates
- Frequently typed text
Add a command
- Open Settings -> Voice Commands.
- Enter the trigger phrase in the Command phrase field, such as
my email. - Enter the text to insert in the Replacement text field, such as
hello@example.com. - Save.
Examples
| Say | Gets inserted |
|---|---|
| my email | hello@company.com |
| my phone | +1 (555) 000-0000 |

Drop periods
Drop periods from voice commands is an optional toggle in Settings -> Voice Commands.
When enabled, Dictāta automatically removes trailing periods added after a command replacement. This is useful if your replacement ends with a URL or command-line string that should not have a period appended.
